Hello. My name is Jeanette Hayden and I am the Functional Life Skills teacher at Blooming Grove Elementary. I teach a Special Education class that is focused on meeting the needs of our students with special needs and accommodations. I work with two totally awesome paraprofessionals, Ms. Holly and Ms. Beth. I will be relying on them quite a bit, as they worked with these students last year and I am new to this classroom and this district.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Women's University. My major was Education of the Hearing Impaired and Elementary Generalist, Grades 1-8. I am certified in both of these areas. This summer, I passed the exam for certification in Special Education Supplemental. This was added to my certificate in July.
I have a diverse educational background and experience. I have taught Resource, General Elementary Education, and Functional Life Skills. My Life Skills experience included two years at the Elementary Level and three years at the Middle School level. I have had several trainings in Autism, Asperger Syndrome, IEP development, and Picture Exchange schedules and communication. I am totally committed to use this training to best meet the needs of my students.
I am married to David Hayden. We have been married since 2008. I have two children. Timothy is 17 and will be a senior at Waxahachie High School. He lives at home while finishing school. My daughter, Bethany, is married and she and her husband John are youth pastors in Louisiana. They have three of the most beautiful children you have ever seen (my grandchildren). The oldest is my awesome Judah, the middle child is my sweetheart Josiah, and the the youngest is my cute little diva, Jubilee. My husband has a grown daughter, Melissa, who is living with us at this time. We live in Waxahachie.
I look forward to having an awesome year at Blooming Grove ISD. Thanks for inviting me.
